Tallinn Secondary School of Science and Tallinn University in cooperation with the Education Ministry and Research and English-Speaking Union invite your best students aged 16-19 to participate in our annual National Public Speaking Competition, held in Tallinn Secondary School of Science on March 21. It provides an excellent opportunity to improve the English language skills of the participants. It will make them more confident and better able to thrive in a global environment. Encouraging English language learning at all levels is important in the world where language and communication skills will be the key to success.
The competition is a continuation of the speech contest series held by the English-Speaking Union Estonia.
Each participating school may enter two speakers. Participation in the Competition is free.
There are seven different themes for the 13th NPSC to choose from:
- Can a society exist without laws?
- What is culture?
- Societal change only comes from government, not individuals
- Affluence creates poverty
- Sport has the power to change the world
- Democracy is failing
- Social media erases national borders
The deadline for pre-registration of participating schools (just school & the number of participants) is February 7, 2023 through this link.
The winner will go forward to represent our country at the International Public Speaking Competition in London on May 8-12, 2023 and he/she will have the opportunity to undergo a unique international experience. The programme fees of the winner’s stay in London are covered by the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research and its partners. There will be other prizes for all the participants as well.
